 Mrs. Alice Faye Coker Ward, 78, wife of Marvin “Tiny” Ward, died Monday, December 5, 2011, in McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mrs. Ward was born July 30, 1933, in Clarendon County, a daughter of the late Douglas Durant and Molly McKenzie Coker. She was a graduate of Turbeville High School and was an active member of Kingstree First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher and Ladies Ministry secretary. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Coker, Jr. and Mack Coker. Surviving, in addition to her husband of 56 years, are: 2 sons, Michael Leroy Ward and Douglas Clark Ward, both of Kingstree; a daughter, Mary Esther Ward, of Kingstree; granddaughters, Stephanie (Brian) Harrington, of New Zion and Sarah (Erik) Knotts, of Scranton; grandson, John Caleb Ward, of Kingstree; 2 great grandchildren, Lacey Harrington, of New Zion and Ethan Knotts, of Scranton; 3 sisters, Thessie Floyd, Winnie Lee (Pressley) Goins, and Diane (David) Munn, all of Lake City; 2 brothers, Fred (Frances) Coker and Ken Coker, all of Lake City; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 P.M. Thursday, December 8, 2011, in the Kingstree First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Williamsburg Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, 1203 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29506.
