 Mrs. Helen Ashburn Gamble, 91, widow of Beverly Gamble, died Saturday, November 5, 2011, in the Kingstree Nursing Facility after an illness. Mrs. Gamble was born October 19, 1920, in North Carolina, a daughter of the late James Lunsford and Ethel Hodge Ashburn. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School, a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and was an active member of Kingstree United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Wallace Connor Sunday School Class and the Katie Cole Circle. Mrs. Gamble was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. In addition to her parents and her husband Beverly, she was preceded in death by a son Richard Gamble, a daughter Beverly Ann Gamble Setzler, a sister Gladys Pinkerton and a brother Fred L. Ashburn. Surviving are: her son, Fred H. (Judi) Gamble, of Kingstree; grandsons, Lamont (Amanda) Gamble, of Kingstree, Hodge (Stacey) Gamble, of Hanahan; granddaughter Jennifer Gamble Setzler, of Clemson; 1 great grandson Cameron Gamble, of Kingstree; nephew Charles Pinkerton, of Lugoff; niece Chelsie Anne Gamble (Ellison) Thompson, of Kingstree; and great nephew Tom Thompson, of Kingstree. Graveside funeral services will be 3 P.M. Tuesday in Kingstree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Williamsburg Funeral Home.
