 Mr. Warren Verdoe Kellahan, 62, husband of Paula Smith Kellahan, died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at MUSC in Charleston. Mr. Kellahan was born April 1, 1949, in Kingstree, a son of the late William N. and Lemyra Ward Kellahan. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and The Citadel. Warren was retired as a Lt. Col. in The US Army Reserve and was retired from SC DHEC after 32 years. For the past seven years he taught and coached at Williamsburg Academy, where he was admired and respected by both students and faculty, who fondly called him “Coach Woody.” He was a member of Kingstree Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by an infant son Boyd Lee Kellahan. Surviving in addition to his wife Paula, of Kingstree are: his children, Jennifer K. (Jay) Hedrick, of Kingstree, Jamie (Shelby) Kellahan, of Irmo, Suzanne Williams, of Sumter, and Drew Kellahan, of Kingstree; 3 grandchildren, Blake Rowell and Margaret Ryan Hedrick, of Kingstree, and James Warren Kellahan, of Irmo; and 3 siblings, Nicky (Alice) Kellahan and Myron (Sherry) Kellahan, and Marcena K. (Mike) Tisdale, all of Kingstree. Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, September 13, 2011, in Kingstree Presbyterian Church, with burial in Cedar Swamp United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Williamsburg Funeral Home.
